  • The Schoolhouse was moved in 2005 to vacant lot located across the street from Main Street Baptist Church in the 500 block of Main Street.

 

  • The School House will serve as a museum on early education in Isle of Wight, with a focus on schools for black students.

 

  • The Smithfield Isle of Wight Convention and Visitors Center is overseeing the project.
