Allen’s Mission School-Located on Hwy.258 (Walters Hwy.) 1/2 mi. before reaching Rte.58 at Allen’s Grove Baptist Church. The church was built on the same site, probably same plot. Not standing.
Beales School- The school was located somewhere along Fire Tower Rd. past Pope Swamp. Not standing.
Bridger School- (Burned down) was past the Gilliam store on Benns Church Rd. near New Bethany United Christian Church.
Camptown School- Unknown
Carrollton School-On Brewer Neck Road on Rte.258 beside the U.S. 258 Auto Parts Store.
Carrsville School-Located on Grants Lane. Coming into Carrsville from Holland, 500 yards before reaching the overpass-bear left onto the Old Carrsville Hwy. Go two blocks and turn left onto Grant’s Lane. School is at end of lane.
Central Hill School-From Smithfield take Rte.258 (Courthouse Hwy.) past the IOW Courthouse to Central Hill Rd., turn right and continue. School was on the left as you enter the community.
Christian Home School-Located on Longview Drive near Chuckatuck, VA and the county line. From Smithfield about 300 feet, on the right, past the Christian Home Baptist Church. Christian Home was moved to 516 Main St. in Smithfield to become the new Schoolhouse Museum.
Davis Hall- (1922-23)- On Rte.258 toward Windsor, past Tynes Plantation on right, the building was located somewhere on the Davis property.
Ebenezer School-Take Courthouse Hwy. Turn left on Poor Folk Rd. and make a left onto Bob White Road when you straighten up see a blue building on left with a cemetery on the right. It had two rooms.
Eley School- Take Rte.258 across Hwy.460 toward Franklin. Go 300 feet then turn right onto Blackwater Rd. Travel about 3/4 mi. past Chapel Grove United Christian Church. Exact location unknown.
Fairview School-From Smithfield take Rte.248 (Windsor Blvd.) to Fire Tower Rd.Turn right and continue to the intersection of Fire Tower Road and Yellow Hammer Rd. The building is on the right side being used as an equipment shed with two sides open.
Fair Oaks School-Take Old Stage Hwy. to Ft. Huger Dr. turn right- pass Tyler’s Beach Rd.-two houses from Fair Oaks Sunday School building.
Gay School- In Windsor follow 258 across Rte.460 heading to Franklin, at first road after crossing the railroad tracks, turn right onto Blackwater Rd. go about 4 miles and pass Morningstar Baptist Church, go another 1&1/2 miles, the school is on the left just before you get to Chapel Grove United Church of Christ on left. Residence.
Godwin School-On Modest Neck Road (#625) one mile, on left, before the intersection with Green Level Road (#623).
Gravel Hill School- Located on Route 10/Rte.258 intersection toward Richmond about six miles from Smithfield. Located on the left beside First Gravel Hill Baptist Church, after passing the Fire Department.
Holly Grove School--Follow the highway heading toward Windsor (Rte.258), pass the Courthouse and take the first road on the left--Orbit Road. Stay on Orbit Road for 4-5 miles. The building is on the right side at the crossroad of Blue Ridge Trail and Orbit. Do not go past the present Holly Grove Church.
Lawnes School is on Rte. 10 past Gravel Hill Church, less that 1 mile on the left side before reaching Tyler's Beach Road.
Livy Neck School-Thisbuilding was located past downtown Smithfield on hwy.670; bear right off Hardy Circle onto Blount’s Corner Road, was connected to Little Zion Baptist Church on the right. Not standing.
Macedonia School-Heading to Rescue on Smith Neck Rd. building was located 1/4 mi. from intersection of Smith Neck and Titus Creek Road near Macedonia Church. Exact location unknown.
McClelland School-Turn right off Rte. 258,Courthouse Hwy. onto Four Square Rd. Make a right turn onto Racetrack Rd. then left on Jonestown Dr. and left on Rattlesnake Trail. Torn down about 5-6 years after students attended Trinity in 1942.
Mitchell School-From Windsor take Rte.258 Franklin through Walters and turn left on Joyner’s Bridge Road. Turn left onto Holly Run Drive and the school is on the right.

Moonfield School (Moon)-on Battery Park Road last building on left before you reach the stockyard. Residence.
Muddy Fork School (Peehill School)-on Muddy Cross Road off Route# 10 from Smithfield turn right, go 3-4 miles-school on the right side before the Muddy Cross Church (same grounds).
New Hope School-Replaced Macedonia School. Unknown
Rising Star School-Located on Battery Park Rd. beside church of same name. It had the Odd Fellows Hall (upstairs) and school downstairs before 1940 until Moonfield was built on the other side of the street.
Sandy Mount School-Located East of Tynes Corner. Located on Scotts Factory Road beside Sandy Mount Baptist Church (right of building). Started by James Tynes on his property. Not standing.
Shiloh School- This school was located on Shiloh Drive, 1 mile from Suffolk line. In Windsor take Shiloh Dr. east to Suffolk line. School was not beside the church of same name, on another road. Not standing.
Trinity School- On Rte.258 heading to Windsor, turn right onto Waterworks Road (Rd.709) continue past Mt. Tabor COGC to "T" crossroads, turn right onto Magnet Drive going about 3/4 miles then make a right on Emmanuel Baptist Church Road. The school was between the cemetery and the church, near the shed. Not standing.
Walnut Grove School-Located on Thomas Woods Trail 1/2 mi. from Zuni at 20707 Thomas Woods Trail. The same building as Walnut Grove Pentecostal Church after the front and back to building was added.
Windsor School (Sugar Hill)-Located across the street from the old Georgie Tyler /Windsor Elem. Schools now Windsor Middle School. On business route Rte.258.
Zuni School- Unknown-a white school, (1922-23) it was listed as colored one year with no other collaborating information.
